Crispy Kraft Dinner
Now, obviously KD is perfect already…but if you want it amped-up a tiny bit, whip this together and prepare to have your mind blown.
Ingredients
- 1 package Kraft Macaroni and Cheese
- 1 c Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1/4 c Flour
- 1 tbsp Sriracha Sauce (or any hot chili sauce)
- 4 Eggs
- 2 tbsp Water
- 1 1/4 c Dry Breadcrumbs (or Panko)
- 1/2 c Oil (optional)
For Serving
- Pesto, Salsa, Tapenade, whatever u have
Instructions
- Prepare mac ‘n’ cheese in large saucepan as directed on package. Add shredded cheese, flour, Sriracha sauce and 1 of the eggs; mix well. Spread onto plastic wrap-covered rimmed baking sheet or plate. Refrigerate for an hour or until firm to touch (or overnight).
- Whisk remaining 3 eggs and water until blended. Place bread crumbs in shallow bowl. Cut macaroni mixture into 12 squares. Dip, 1 at a time, in crumbs, then dip in eggs and dip in crumbs once again. Return to prepared baking sheet. Discard any leftover eggs and bread crumbs.
- Heat oil in medium frying pan on medium-high heat. Add mac ‘n’ cheese squares, in batches; cook 2 to 3 min, or until golden brown. Flip and cook second side till golden brown, another couple minutes. Remove from pan with tongs or spatula; drain on paper towels. Serve warm on their own, or with a sauce, or however you wanna eat them…
