Sexy Apple Crumble
Apple crumble is one of those things that's never gonna go outta style. Pair with ice cream to really go OTT.
Ingredients
Apple Filling
- 8 Medium Apples (or 10 small apples), peeled + cubed
- 1/4 c White Sugar
- 2 tbsp Light Brown Sugar, packed
- 1 tbsp All Purpose Flour
- 3/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 c Water
Crumble
- 1 1/4 c Quick Cooking Oats (or rolled oats)
- 1 1/4 c All Purpose Flour
- 3/4 c Light Brown Sugar, packed
- 1/4 c White Sugar
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
- 3/4 c Unsalted Butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop the apples into a 9 x 13 baking dish. Add the sugars, flour + cinnamon; mix. Pour in the water and mix everything until apples are evenly coated.
- In a bowl, combine the oats, flour, sugars, cinnamon, salt, baking powder + melted butter. Mix well using a metal spoon (or your fingers) until the butter has soaked through the dry ingredients (about one minute of mixing or less). The texture should be crumbley. Sprinkle evenly over the apple filling.
- Bake in preheated oven for 40 – 45 minutes, or until the crumb is golden and crisp and the apples are tender. Eat all, share some, have with some ice cream…
