Swedish 6 Ingredient Gooey Chocolate Cake
6 ingredients, 10 minutes of mixing them, and 22 minutes of baking? Hell yesssss. This Swedish Choco Cake (aka ‘Kladdkaka’) has THE gooiest texture ever. It’s ridiculously good.
Ingredients
- 135 gr Salted Butter (just over 1/2 c/1 stick)
- 55 gr Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (plus 1 tbsp), plus extra for sprinkling
- 350 gr Sugar
- 110 gr All Purpose Flour (about 0.85 c)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 3 Eggs, lightly beaten
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 350°F. Line a 7-9 inch springform cake pan (or frying pan, it’s all I had and it worked lol) with a circle of parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan or pot, then take off the heat and set aside. Add the cocoa, sugar, flour + vanilla to the butter and stir until crumbly. Add the eggs + stir everything together until well combined + creamy looking.
- Pour the mixture into the lined pan + bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the top is set but the centre is still gooey (the top should be firm but crack under a little pressure from your finger).
- Let the cake cool in the pan, then run a knife along the edges (if you used a springform pan). Otherwise, turn out onto a plate or cake stand. Dust generously with cocoa powder + serve warm on its own, or pair with whipped cream, fruit, black coffee, scotch, vodka, really it doesn’t matter haha.
Notes
Note – this is a sweet cake. It’s delish, but definitely sweeter than some other cakes.
